The Marlboro County Bulldogs raced out to a 22-7 first quarter lead and never trailed on the way to a 43-21 victory over the Chesterfield Rams (0-1) to open the high school football season.
Marlboro County quarterback London Johnson threw five touchdown passes, all in the first half. The Bulldogs rolled up 363 yards of total offense. Andre Underwood caught two of the Bulldogs TD passes.
Jamal Stanton scored the first touchdown of the contest on a 4th and 21 for Marlboro County on the way to an 8-0 lead. Stanton finished the night with two TD catches. Raheem Ward also caught a TD pass and Fred Davis scored on a TD run in a dominating performance for the Bulldogs.
Marlboro County (1-0) will travel to Cheraw next Friday, August 30.
