Tue, 07 Aug 2012 20:50:56 GMT — 2012 Marion Swamp Foxes 2011 Record: 7-5 Offense: 23.58 ppg (14th in Zone Nation) Defense: 18.83 ppg (12th in Zone Nation) Returning Starters - Offense: 6 Defense: 6 Hags Thoughts It will be a rebuilding year at Marion despite the fact that half the Swamp Foxes starters return from last year's 7-5 squad. Marion lost nearly 3,000 yards of offense is gone. QB-LB Tillman Sanders and multi-talented D.J. Kelly will be key players both offense and defense. 315 pound Keon Johnson will be a force in the trenches with a strong duo of LB's C.J. Hopkins and Michael Outlaw. Marion will have plenty of competition before region play begins with games against Manning, Cheraw, Lamar and Hemingway. Rich's Thoughts Call me crazy, but Marion always has a knack for finding skill players. The fact that nearly the entire line returns makes me believe that the Swamp Foxes are not going to fall as far down as some people think. It's easy to look at the 3,000 yards of production that left the team, but we just need to learn who's going to visit the end zone for the Swamp Foxes every Friday night. I think the great rivalry between the Swamp Foxes and Mullins will be the barometer for the 2nd place finisher behind the favored Dillon Wildcats.
