Johnsonville Flashes 2014 Football Preview

The Johnsonville Flashes are moving up to Class AA this season.

The Johnsonville Flashes are coming off another region champioship after finishing with an 8-3 record last season. Now, the program is moving up in classification to AA.

The area's leading rusher, Tushai Edwards has graduated. Robert Ripley IV and Donnie Hanna will provide a 1-2 punch to try to replace the 2,037 rushing yards and 28 TD's by Edwards from a year ago.

Johnsonville quarterback Jacob Avant will be the Flashes starting quarterback on an offense that returns five starters.

On defense, four starters are back including 6'5" 333 pound division one talent Shaquille Crouch on both sides of the line.

Johnsonville will play in the realigned Class AA Region VII along with Andrews, Kingstree, Lake Marion, Lee Central and Timberland.

The Flashes, under head coach Lewis Lineberger, now in his 10th season at Johnsonville, will open the 2014 season at Berkeley on August 22nd. Lineberger is beginning his 38th season of coaching high school football, 31 as a head coach.
