Jabo Lee became the first Dillon Wildcat to hoist the Zoneman Trophy when he captured the award at the 12th annual Chevy End Zone Banquet. The junior running back was a Zoneman Finalist in 2010 and took it the next step capturing 14 first place votes from a panel of 40 area head coaches and media members.
Conway's Mykal Moody was the runnerup, edging Hemingway wide receiver Jabril Solomon. Lee's teammate and Gamecocks commitment Kwinton Smith finished in fourth. Lee ran for 1,642 yards and 26 TD's averaging nearly eleven yards per carry.
More than 60 area high school football players were honored at the banquet on Thursday, December 8th at the Clarion Hotel banquet room in Myrtle Beach. The Scotland County duo of Karshaun Quick and Isaiah Robinson shared North Carolina player of the year honors and the winners of the A&I Plays of the Year were also in attendance.
The 2011 WPDE Chevy End Zone Banquet airs Sunday at 1pm on NewsChannel 15.
