The Hemingway Tigers beat the East Clarendon Wolverines 44-0 in high school football on Halloween Night. It was homecoming for the Tigers, who rolled up 435 total yards of offense.
Hemingway raced to a 34-0 halftime lead. Junior quarterback Xavier Weaver threw three TD passes. Dontre Mack had two TD receptions. Zach Thomas also had a TD grab.
Shrine Bowl selection DeQuan Casey had touchdown runs of 13 and 39 yards.
The Hemingway defense forced four turnovers and recorded their second shutout of the season. Jordan Pressley and Jabril Ellis each had interceptions for the Tigers.
Hemingway head coach Ken Cribb received a Shrine Bowl blazer during the game. Cribb will be an assistant for the North Carolina All-Stars. The 77th Shrine Bowl will be played on December 21 at Gibbs Stadium in Spartanburg.
Playoff-bound Hemingway ended the regular season with a 9-1 record. East Clarendon is now 4-6.
