Thu, 02 Aug 2012 22:40:23 GMT — 2012 Hartsville Red Foxes 2011 Record: 9-3 Offense: 34.66 ppg (3rd in Zone Nation) Defense: 17.83 ppg (9th in Zone Nation) Returning Starters - Offense: 9 Defense: 6 Hags Thoughts The Red Foxes are one of the most talent laden Class 3A teams in South Carolina. The Hartsville offense is explosive with Trey Gattison and wide receiver and a stable of running backs, led by Trey Samuel and Trey Rogers. All Zone lineman Ed Reed returns to plow the way. Hartsville has most of their defense back including Treyvon Sellers. There's enough talent for Head Coach Jeff Calabrese to make a run at a state championship. Rich's ThoughtsCoach Calabrese will get mad that we're talking up the Foxes, but it is well deserved props. I think the most fun part of the early part of the season is to see kids emerge out of nowhere and become stars. That's exactly what happened with Trey Gattison. When we start our pre-season All-Zone team work, there's always going to be the D1 guys and players that have the big numbers. It's so much fun for Hags and I to say "Who is this guy??!!" and then watch him do it not for just one big game, but all season long. That's what Gattison did last year. I think I say it every year, but it can't be overlooked - Jeff Calabrese is a master at coaching special teams. Look for Hartsville to make a big play with a blocked punt or kick on more than one occasion this year. Click here for Hartsville's 2012 Schedule and Player Profiles
