The Dillon Wildcats are going for a third consecutive Class AA Division I State Championship this season.
Dillon is loaded with talent on offense. Eight starters return off a dynamic offense, led by WPDE All-Zone quarterback Avery McCall, and All-Zone wide receiver Eri-Reon Hayes, who caught 15 TD passes last season.
The Wildcats will have plenty of speed in the backfield with speedy sophomore Johnny Allen getting plenty of touches following the graduation of both Anthony Blue and Joe Blue.
Dillon's offensive line will be a strength with both Harley Mincey and Adonis Sealey working in the trenches.
Dillon's Nasty Cats defense will undergo some big changes with only five returning starters back from last year's title squad, that allowed less than six points a game. Defensive back Que Bethea leads an experienced secondary. Young talent will have to fill in some gaps on the defensive line and at linebacker with the departure of both Joe Blue and leading tackler Damu Ford.
Dillon head coach Jackie Hayes believes his Wildcats will contend for another title this season, "We'll be real disappointed if we don't make it back to the state championship game."
