They were all business at the WPDE media session and turned right back around to get a workout in. They know that nothing is guaranteed. Joe Blue made huge strides with his new lighter look and you can tell he just loves to play the game. The Gamecocks got a good one there. Avery McCall is surrounded by so many great veterans which will teach him how to take the reins in the coming years. You've got three Zoneman candidates in Joe Blue, McCall and Anthony Blue. LB Damu Ford is incredibly underrated. As a matter of fact you can list a handful of guys on the defense that should be getting more publicity with Jalen Washington topping that list. Jackie Hayes made a great move by scheduling Mallard Creek in the opener. Want to get a team coming off a state championship focused? How about bringing in a nationally ranked 4A squad with as many as a dozen Division I prospects. Worth Another WatchDillon captured state title #3 in a 21-6 win over Fairfield Central. After watching the Wildcats come oh so close the previous two seasons, it was great to see it all come together for Jackie Hayes and his team. Click HERE to watch Dillon's State Championship victory. Part of the state championship was a little bit of history as Tara Grimsley became the second female to kick and score points in a state championship game in SCHSL history. Tara is back for her senior season after placing in the top 5 in kicking points in the Zone Nation.
