2012 Record: 6-6
Offense: 31.41 ppg (11th in Zone Nation)
Defense: 36.58 ppg (32nd)
I was lucky enough to see Bryan Edwards first high school touchdown catch in the corner of the end zone against Georgetown. I couldn't believe this young man was only 14 years old. Edwards already has a bunch of Division I offers and Conway is very good at getting their kids ready for college both on and off the field. With Mykal Moody gone, no one knows much about the 2013 Tigers and Coach Jordan loves that. The Tigers have a knack, when healthy, to get better as the season goes along and I expect that this year even though there aren't very many household names on the roster. The Tigers had a couple of thrill rides last year, none better than the 56-55 loss to Myrtle Beach which is worth watching again.
Thoughts and prayers:
Wesley Baker was supposed to be a starting linebacker in his senior season for the Conway Tigers, but is now battling to recover after being hit by a truck. Wesley was in our studio last year after a Conway win and helped us with one of our Don't Text and Drive PSA's. Like everyone in Conway, I hope that Wesley can wear his #49 jersey on the sidelines this season. What an inspiration that would be.
