      Rich's Take

Cheraw loves to run the football, but I do believe they'll be a little more balanced this year. QB Robert Pitts is on our All-Zone radar. The Braves are another one of those teams that doesn't back down from a challenge. Opening at traditional 3A powers Camden and Marlboro County on the road is daunting. Tack on Hartsville and a road trip to Fairfield Central and the Braves will play a state champ and a state finalist in back to back weeks before region play rolls around. Chesterfield County is one of the most underrated when it comes to football prowess. Once again, the county champ will be the region champ and most likely be a contender come playoff time.

      Alumni Update

What an exciting time to be a Brave. It started with former Gamecock Cliff Matthews putting on an Atlanta Falcons helmet, now it's another former Cheraw star, Jaron Brown, who's getting his chance in the National Football League. In case you missed it, Brown, caught a one yard TD pass for the Arizona Cardinals in its preseason opening win at Green Bay. The former Clemson wideout is making a strong first impression in his quest to join a talented receiving corps in the desert. Click HERE to see Jaron Brown's TD catch for Arizona.
