Carolina Forest hires NC coach to take over Panthers football

After a long process, Carolina Forest has named Marc Morris as the Panthers new varsity football coach. Morris comes to the Grand Strand from Cleveland High School in North Carolina. The 42-year-old has a 96-25 varsity record in nine years as a head coach at Cleveland and West Hartnett High in the Tar Heel State.

Morris replaces Drew Hummel, who resigned at the end of the 2013 season. Carolina Forest was 1-10 in 2013 with its lone win coming against 3A state champion Myrtle Beach. "We're just excited to come," Morris told WPDE Sports. "We're going to figure out some things, I mean they had a great game against Myrtle Beach but we're gonna worry about us first, not necessarily who we play. We're going to get the kids to play to the maximum of their ability each time out.
