Tolbert, Norman wrap up Panthers minicamp

The Carolina Panthers wrapped up a nine week off-season minicamp with a lunchtime practice in front of over 5,000 fans at Bank of America Stadium. It was the first time two former Coastal Carolina Chanticleers were in their new NFL home.

Mike Tolbert signed a 4 year, $10 million dollar free agent contract with Carolina. He turned down more money from his first NFL team, the San Diego Chargers to return back closer to his Georgia and Coastal Carolina roots. Tolbert has played running back and fullback in the NFL. With DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart already in the backfield, it appears that Tolbert will go back to the fullback slot, but there's a lot of talk of utilizing Tolbert's talents in a variety of ways. Josh Norman was a fifth round pick by Carolina in the NFL Draft. The defensive back has drawn praise from head coach Ron Rivera as well as All-Pro wide receiver Steve Smith. There's a lot of talk that Norman can make an immediate impact in the Panthers secondary.
