NMB's Quigley signs with Jets, will make NFL debut this Sunday

North Myrtle Beach's Ryan Quigley was signed by the New York Jets on Monday and will make his NFL debut this Sunday in East Rutherford, NJ when the Jets host the Buffalo Bills. The Jets released punter Robert Malone on Monday, who beat out Quigley in preseason training camp. Quigley had 10 punts with the Jets in the preseason, with a net average of 40.7 yards per boot.

Quigley was in Chicago Bears training camp in 2012, earning a spot on the opening day roster thanks to an injury to Adam Podlesh, but was released immediately after the first game, not playing in a regular season contest. Quigley was a four year starter for the Boston College Eagles and is a three time WPDE All-Zone selection out of North Myrtle Beach High. Quigley become the 16th player with local ties to be on an NFL active roster. Three other local players are on NFL practice squads.
