Mutiny loses NPSL season opener

Jack Ward scored one of the Mutiny's two goals in a loss to Jacksonville United FC.

The Myrtle Beach Mutiny lost their National Premier Soccer League season-opener 3-2 to Jacksonville United FC on Saturday night at Ashley Booth Field in Myrtle Beach.

Trailing 1-0 in the first half, the Mutiny scored its first goal of the year on a penalty kick off the foot of Max Weston.

Jacksonville United struck for two quick second half goals with Rijad Kubijar giving his side the lead for good.

The Mutiny's final goal of the night came from Jack Ward, a senior at UNC-Wilmington.

The Mutiny will hit the road for two games before returning home on May 31 with a contest against Gate City FC at 7 p.m. at Ashley Booth Field.
