Dustin Johnson paid a visit to Myrtle Beach for a full day of activity. The former Coastal Carolina All-American took part in a clinic at GolfSmith in Myrtle Beach and visited his Dustin Johnson golf school at TPC in Myrtle Beach which is run by his former college coach Allen Terrell. Johnson played 18 holes at TPC with Preston Browder, a 31 year old Charlotte, NC resident, who won a contest that gave him and three friends the chance to play with the eight time PGA Tour winner.
Johnson is currently ranked 10th in the world thanks to a red hot start to the 2013-2014 PGA Tour season. He started his season with a win at the World Golf Championships in China, followed by a 6th place finish at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions and back to back second place efforts at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am and the Northern Trust Open. He has earned just under $3 million dollars in his first five events of the season.
He no longer lives in Myrtle Beach, but still owns a house on the Grand Strand. He's engaged to actress and singer Paulina Gretzkty, the daughter of NHL legend Wayne Gretzky. He enjoys his relationship with Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday promoting golf on the Grand Strand and is expected to take part in Monday after the Masters. He considers TPC in Myrtle Beach his "home course" and it's where WPDE Sports first spoke with Ryder Cup veteran in 2006: WATCH: Dustin Johnson 2006 WPDE Feature
