Dodgers top pick says he learned curveball from Youtube

Conway High pitcher Grant Holmes is prepared to sign with the LA Dodgers.

Conway High pitcher Grant Holmes can throw a fastball 100 miles an hour. But it's his curveball that MLB scouts are raving about.

Selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the first round of the draft, Holmes is considered to have the most effective curveball of any high school player in this year's crop.

How Holmes learned to throw his devastating curveball by using social media, "I learned it off of Youtube when I was probably in about eighth or ninth grade. It's crazy."

Holmes is expected to sign with the Dodgers later this week or early next week. His signing bonus is projected to be $1,980,500.
