CCU baseball opens season in Florence with win over JMU

The Remillard brothers drove in three runs to help Coastal Carolina to a 4-3 victory over James Madison on Friday in Florence. The Chanticleers opened the 2013 season at Francis Marion's Sparrow Stadium and will play the remainder of its home games at Stadium, home of the Myrtle Beach Pelicans as construction of a new on campus stadium is underway.

Will Remillard, a redshirt sophomore transfer from Temple, got CCU its first runs of the season on a two run single in the bottom of the first. Younger brother Zach delivered an RBI single in the 4th to tie the game at 3. Jacob May had the game winning hit in the 4th inning to give CCU a 4-3 advantage.

Junior Tyler Herb pitched five innings to pick up the win and freshman Seth Lamando worked the ninth to pick up the save. Coastal continues the three game series with the Dukes on Saturday at 4pm and Sunday at 1pm. Both games will be played at Stadium.
