Coastal Carolina saw a 16 point first half lead disappear as Tennessee Tech scored a 77-71 win on Saturday afternoon in an ESPN BracketBusters matchup. The Chanticleers fell to 18-9 and finished the regular season 12-4 at Kimbel Arena. Coastal honored five seniors prior to the game, but their final home game was spoiled. Early on it appeared as if Coastal was going to cruise to victory. Five straight points by senior Dexter Moore to make it 17-5. The Golden Eagles didn't reach double digits until 5:42 to go in the first half, but closed the stanza with an 18-3 run. Zac Swansey's three pointer tied the game at 26 at the half.
Tech was 10 of 18 from three point range highlighted by four triples from Swansea and three more from Kevin Murphy. The Chanticleers fell behind by as many as 16 in the second half, but were able to make a couple of runs. Jon Pack had 15 points and 9 rebounds to pace five CCU players in double digits. Anthony Raffa hit a three to get CCU to within four at 75-71, but the Chants could get no closer. Jud Dillard led Tennessee Tech with 22 points and Murphy added 21.
CCU closes out the regular season with road games at Liberty and VMI next week . Coastal is tied with Campbell for second place in the Big South.
