Rick Pitino visits Myrtle Beach to watch Big Shots

Rick Pitino was all smiles talking with WPDE NewsChannel 15 at St. James Middle School.

Rick Pitino made a three hour stop in Myrtle Beach on Friday to check out the talent at the Big Shots Basketball Tournament. The Head coach of the NCAA National Champion Louisville Cardinals was asked if his team has the returning talent to make it back-to-back titles next season, "We do, we have eight players back. We have a great recruiting class, the number one junior college player in the country committed to us, Chris Jones."

Pitino also talked about his horse, Goldencents, winning the Santa Anita Derby, but falling short in the Kentucky Derby. He also has a book that will be released in October called, "The One Day Contract."

NewsChannel 15 Sports asked Pitino how long he will continue coaching. He said, "Well I'm only 60 so I can probably go to 85."

Pitino will be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on Sept. 8 in Springfield, Massachusetts.
