Pat Summit's son an early candidate for CCU women's job

Tyler Summitt, a 22 year old assistant coach at Marquette and the son of legendary Tennessee basketball coach Pat Summit, has had contact with Coastal Carolina about its vacant women's basketball job. WPDE Sports has learned that Summitt and athletic director Hunter Yurachek have spoken about the Lady Chanticleers vacancy. It's not known if Summitt has been asked to come to Conway for an interview or what other names are on Coastal's radar. CCU is looking to replace Alan LeForce who retired last week after 16 years leading the CCU women's basketball program.

Tyler was a walk-on player for the University of Tennessee men's basketball program and graduated from college in three years. He landed a job on Terri Mitchell's staff at Marquette on the same day his mother stepped down as Tenneseee coach after being diagnosed with early on-set dimentia. Pat Summitt finished her career with 1,098 wins for the Lady Volunteers the most wins of any coach in the men's and women's game.

Tyler Summitt has already garnered a lot of national attention in his first college coaching job.
