Coastal Carolina had three players over the 20 point mark highlighted by Angelica Henry's triple double in a 106-71 rout of Charleston Southern in the first round of the Big South women's basketball tournament at the HTC Center in Conway. Henry had 30 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. She was joined by Alexx Puckett who had 28 points and 13 rebounds along with AJ Jordan's 26 points and 7 boards. It's the first time in Big South Tournament women's history that three players on the same team scored 20 points or more. The 106 points is also a Big South women's record in tournament play.
Coastal improves to 15-15 on the season and will play Winthrop on Thursday at 8pm in the quarterfinals of the Big South women's tournament. It's the second year that the Big South has hosted both its men's and women's tournaments on the Grand Strand. The men's tournament begins on Wednesday with four first round games. Coastal Carolina's men's basketball team has a bye and will play on Friday in the quarterfinals at 6pm against the winner of Campbell and Charleston Southern.
