Coastal basketball climbs the polls

The Coastal Carolina men's basketball team continues to get national recognition for their 20 game win streak and 22-2 record. This week, CCU received 26 votes in the AP Top 25 Poll (28th) and 15 votes in the ESPN/USA Today Top 25 Poll (29th). The ballots of the coaches poll are not made public. The AP Top 25 is comprised of 64 voters from across the country. This week, the Chanticleers got their 26 voter points from 13 different ballots. South Carolina has two media members voting on the AP Top 25: Ron Morris of the State and Steven Bradley of the Seneca Daily Journal in Seneca. Neither South Carolina voter had Coastal Carolina in their top 25.

West Virginia is #25 in this week's poll with 93 points. Minnesota is #25 in the coaches poll with 37 points.
