Two Chants picked in NFL Draft

CCU's Lorenzo Taliaferro was taken in the 4th round of the NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens.

For the first time in Big South Conference history, two players were picked in the same year of the NFL Draft.

Coastal Carolina running back Lorenzo Taliaferro went to the Baltimore Ravens in the fourth round. Wide Receiver Matt Hazel was taken by the Miami Dolphins in the sixth round.

Taliaferro is an FCS All-American who broke single season school records for rushing yards with 1,729 and touchdowns with 27.

Hazel is the all-time leading receiver at CCU. Hazel finished his career with 183 receptions for 2,553 yards.

Now, a total of five Chanticleers have been picked in NFL Drafts, including Tyler Thigpen, Jerome Simpson, and Josh Norman.
