Former Lamar High and South Carolina Gamecocks standout John Abraham made three tackles, including one sack and one pass defended for the Atlanta Falcons in a 30-17 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. Abraham is fourth in the NFL with seven sacks this season. He is the NFL's active sack leader with 119.
Ex-Wilson High star Lawrence Timmons of the Pittsburgh Steelers had two tackles, including one for a loss and three quarterback hits, in a 27-12 victory over the Washington Redskins.
Another Wilson High grad, Justin Durant, had seven tackles for the Detroit Lions in a 28-24 win against the Seattle Seahawks.
Rookie Josh Norman, out of Coastal Carolina, made his first NFL interception in a 23-22 loss to the Chicago Bears. Norman also had five tackles. Mike Tolbert, also from CCU, had three carries for seven yards, and one catch for 15 yards for the Panthers.
On Thursday night, Jerome Simpson, from Coastal Carolina had two catches for 37 yards for the Minnesota Vikings in a 36-17 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
