NFL Week 17: Grand Strand & Pee Dee Player Performances

Mike Tolbert gained a total of 39 yards as the Carolina Panthers clinched the NFC South.

The Carolina Panthers clinched the NFC South division championship with a 21-20 win over the Atlanta Falcons. Panthers running back Mike Tolbert rushed seven times for 29 yards, and caught three passes for 10 yards. Tolbert played college football at Coastal Carolina. For the Falcons, former Cheraw High and South Carolina Gamecocks standout Cliff Matthews made four tackles.

Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Lawrence Timmons had eight tackles, including one sack and an interception in a 20-7 victory over the Cleveland Browns. Timmons played at Wilson High and was the 2003 WPDE Zoneman winner.

Former North Myrtle Beach High star Ryan Quigley punted five times for a 42 yard average for the New York Jets in a 20-7 win over the Miami Dolphins. Quigley had three punts land inside the 20 with a long of 54 yards.

Jerome Simpson out of Coastal Carolina made three catches for 29 yards for the Minnesota Vikings in a 14-13 win over the Detroit Lions.

Ex-Marlboro County Bulldogs star Robert Ayers had one tackle for loss for the Denver Broncos in a 34-14 win over the Oakland Raiders.

Conway's Junior Hemingway made five receptions for 45 yards for the Kansas City Chiefs in a 27-24 overtime loss to the San Diego Chargers.

Arizona Cardinals linebacker John Abraham had two tackles in a 23-20 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Abraham played at Lamar High and for the South Carolina Gamecocks.
