NFL Week 16: Grand Strand & Pee Dee Player Performances

Lawrence Timmons out of Wilson High made 10 tackles in the Pittsburgh Steelers win on Sunday.

Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Lawrence Timmons made 10 tackles, including a sack, in a 38-31 win over the Green Bay Packers. Timmons, who played football at Wilson High in Florence, was credited with two QB hits.

Former Lamar High and South Carolina Gamecocks star John Abraham made two tackles for the Arizona Cardinals in a 17-10 win over the Seattle Seahawks.

Mike Tolbert out of Coastal Carolina had one carry for one yard, and two catches for five yards for the Carolina Panthers, in a 17-13 win over the New Orleans Saints. The Panthers record is now 11-4. They have locked up a playoff berth.

Ex-Marlboro County standout Robert Ayers made three tackles, including a sack for the Denver Broncos, in a 37-13 win over the Houston Texans.

Ryan Quigley from North Myrtle Beach High punted three times for the New York Jets in a 24-13 win over the Cleveland Browns. Quigley averaged 33 yards a punt with a long of 51 yards.

Jerome Simpson made one catch for eight yards for the Minnesota Vikings in a 42-14 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. The former Coastal Carolina wide receiver has 44 receptions this season for 689 yards and one TD.

On Monday night, Cheraw High product Cliff Matthews had one tackle for the Atlanta Falcons in a 34-24 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
