NFL Week 14: Grand Strand & Pee Dee Player Performances

Former CCU wide receiver Jerome Simpson caught a TD pass for the Vikings on Sunday.

The New Orleans Saints beat the Carolina Panthers 31-13 on Sunday night to take over first place in the NFC South. Mike Tolbert out of Coastal Carolina had three carries for 12 yards, and two receptions for 17 yards for the Panthers.

Former Coastal Carolina wide receiver Jerome Simpson had four catches for 48 yards and a TD for the Minnesota Vikings in a 29-26 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

John Abraham, who played high school football at Lamar, had six tackles, including three sacks and a safety for the Arizona Cardinals, in a 30-10 win over the St. Louis Rams. Also for the Cardinals, Jaron Brown out of Cheraw High, had one catch for 32 yards.

Brandon Bostick out of West Florence High, made two receptions for the Green Bay Packers in a 22-21 victory over the Atlanta Falcons. For the Falcons, Cliff Matthews from Cheraw had two tackles, and Malliciah Goodman from West Florence made one stop and recovered a fumble.

Junior Hemingway had one grab for 11 yards for the Kansas City Chiefs in a 45-10 win over the Washington Redskins. Hemingway, who played high school football at Conway, was a two-time WPDE All-Zone selection in 2005-06.

Ex-North Myrtle Beach High star Ryan Quigley had two punts for a 42.5 yard average for the New York Jets in a 37-27 win over the Oakland Raiders. Quigley had a long punt of 46 yards, with one inside the 20 yard line.

Clifton Geathers out of Carvers Bay High made two tackles for the Philadelphia Eagles in a 34-20 win over the Detroit Lions.

Marlboro County High product Robert Ayers made one tackle for the Denver Broncos in a 51-28 win over the Tennessee Titans.

2003 WPDE Zoneman winner Lawrence Timmons out of Wilson High in Florence had five tackles for the Pittsburgh Steelers in a 34-28 loss to the Miami Dolphins.
