NFL and MLB stars raise big bucks for charity in Myrtle Beach

Tyler Thigpen helped with the Grand Strand Miracle League softball event on Friday.

The Grand Strand Miracle League teamed up with professional athletes from the National Football League and Major League Baseball to kick off the 2 Live Beyond Golf Tournament weekend.

A handful of athletes, from former Coastal Carolina and current Cleveland Browns QB Tyler Thigpen, to MLB Hall of Famer Eddie Murray, helped lend a hand at the Miracle League's celebrity softball event. "To be able to give back to them, and you know, put a smile on their face, give them a high five, sign their shirt, anything I could do, I was excited to do that," Thigpen said.

Former MLB Outfielder and Florence native Reggie Sanders, and former NFL Wide receiver Andre Davis founded the 2 Live Beyond Tournament to raise money for the Reggie Sanders Foundation Dream Within You Campaign and the Africa New Life Ministries.

More than $100,000 was raised for the charities during the
tournament on Saturday at the Grand
Dunes Resort in Myrtle Beach.
