Elijah Wilson leads Coastal Carolina to victory at Gardner-Webb

Coastal Carolina freshman Elijah Wilson scored 21 points to lead the Chanticleers.

The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers beat the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs 81-69 at Paul Porter Arena in Boiling Springs, North Carolina on Saturday night.

Freshman guard Elijah Wilson was a perfect 4-for-4 from three-point range. He led Coastal with 21 points.

Five different Chants scored in double-figures. Josh Cameron tallied 15, Uros Ljeskovic had 14, Badou Diagne had 12, and Warren Gillis added 11.

CCU (8-8) shot a blistering 57.4 percent from the field for the game.

Coastal took a 15-12 lead in the first half on a Wilson three-pointer and never trailed again. The Chants led by a dozen points at halftime and led by as many as 21.

Coastal Carolina held Gardner-Webb (7-10) to just 38.2 percent shooting from the field, and outrebounded the Runnin' Bulldogs 35-28.

Coastal returns home on Wednesday, January 15 at 7 p.m. to play UNC-Asheville at the HTC Center in Conway.
