College Basketball: Coastal Carolina beats Gardner-Webb

The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers defeated the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs 75-60 on Saturday night at the HTC Center in Conway, South Carolina.

Warren Gillis led four different Chanticleers in double-figures with 18 points. Elijah Wilson added 16 and so did Josh Cameron. Badou Diagne had 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Wilson tied the Coastal Carolina freshman single-season scoring record. He now has 420 points.

CCU stormed back from a three point halftime deficit. The Chants hit 72 percent of their shots from the field, outscoring GW 50-32 over the final 20 minutes.

The Chanticleers (16-10) have the outright lead in the South Division of the Big South Conference with a 9-3 record in league play.

Coastal's next game will be on the road against Winthrop in Rock Hill. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 19. The Eagles beat the Chants in their last meeting 73-72 in OT in Conway.
