      College Baseball Sunday: Gamecocks win, Clemson and CCU lose

      The 14th ranked South Carolina Gamecocks beat the 17th ranked Kentucky Wildcats 3-1 on Sunday, in front of a crowd of 8,024 to sweep the three game series. LB Dantzler powered the Gamecocks offense with a two-run homer. Pitcher Jack Wynkoop (5-2) tossed eight innings of 9-hit ball, giving up one unearned run to pick up the victory. South Carolina overall record is now 31-10, 11-7 in the SEC. South Carolina returns to action on Tuesday night with a non-conference tilt against Gardner-Webb. The game will be at Keeter Stadium in Shelby, N.C. with first pitch at 6 p.m.

      The Miami Hurricanes stymied the #12 Clemson Tigers behind a 6-hit shutout by Andrew Suarez. 2,793 fans watched Miami score a 7-0 win in Coral Gables, Florida to take two out of three from Clemson. The Tigers overall record falls to 27-13, 13-8 in the ACC. Clemson will host Western Carolina at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

      The Radford Highlanders beat the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers 5-2, before a crowd of 674 fans at Pelicans Ballpark in Myrtle Beach. CCU's overall record falls to 25-15, 11-4 in the Big South Conference. Coastal Carolina's next game will be on Tuesday, April 23, at the College of Charleston. First pitch at Patriots Point is set for 6 p.m.
