CCU basketball players honored by Big South Conference

Sam McLaurin earned academic honors for a second straight season.

Coastal Carolina's Chris Gradnigo and Anthony Raffa were named to the Big South Conference Second-Team All-Conference by the league on Sunday. Forward Sam McLaurin made the Big South All-Academic team for the second straight year.

In his senior season, Gradnigo averaged 15.1 points and 6.4 rebounds. Raffa finished the regular season by leading the Chants in scoring at a clip of 16.9 a game. He also averaged nearly two steals a game ranking him third in the conference.

McLaurin is CCU's career leader in blocked shots with 154. He averaged 9.5 points and 7.5 rebounds a game. The communication major has a 3.48 GPA.
