The third ranked Coastal Carolina Chanticleers football team will take on the Charlotte 49ers on Saturday, November 2 at Brooks Stadium in Conway. CCU's homecoming contest is being billed as "The Battle of the Carolinas."

Coastal is the top scoring offense in FCS, averaging 47.4 points a game. The Chants will try to improve their record to 9-0 with an out of conference game against the first year program in Charlotte.

CCU quarterback Alex Ross will start after missing last week with an injury.

Coastal will be the 49ers fourth Big South Conference opponent this season. Their lone win against a Big South team came in a 53-51 shootout over Gardner-Webb.

Kickoff for the Charlotte-Coastal Carolina game is set for 3 p.m. in Conway.

At his weekly news conference, Coastal Carolina head football coach Joe Moglia was asked if he plans to return next season, following questions about his assistant coaches possibly entertaining offers from other schools, because of CCU's success this year. Moglia replied, "I expect to come back. I absolutely expect to come back. You're hearing I'm getting fired? We got more rumors floating around here?" Moglia added, "I expect to be here."
