The 15th ranked Coastal Carolina Chanticleers (3-0) will host the Hampton Pirates (0-3) on Saturday, September 21 at 6 p.m. at Brooks Stadium in Conway.
It will be the first meeting between the schools. Coastal Carolina is 15-1 lifetime against teams from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
Coastal Carolina running back Lorenzo Taliaferro is 5th in the nation in FCS rushing. He has 55 carries for 387 yards over the first three games. With CCU unbeaten and Hampton winless heading into the Saturday match-up, Taliaferro says, "We're a target now."
CCU is coming off a 51-32 win at Eastern Kentucky. The Chants have won their first three regular season games for the first time in school history.
Hampton is fresh off a 30-27 loss to Tennessee Tech. The Pirates other two losses were on the road against Western Illinois and William & Mary.
Former Lake City High star Marcus Williamson is a freshman defensive end with Hampton.
Hampton has a 4-5 lifetime record against teams from the Big South Conference.
In other Coastal football news, the South Carolina Gamecocks announced that the South Carolina-Coastal Carolina game on November 23 will begin at 1 p.m. in Columbia.
