Oregon clobbers Clemson in NCAA Baseball opener

Clemson will play in an elimination game at the Nashville Regional on Saturday.

The Oregon Ducks scored 18 unanswered runs to beat the Clemson Tigers 18-1 in the opening round of the NCAA Baseball Tournament.

Clemson scored the first run of the game at the Nashville Regional. Steve Wilkerson singled in the first inning to score Tyler Slaton. But it was all the offense the Tigers could muster.

Oregon pounded out 20 hits. Shaun Chase homered and drove in four runs to lead the Ducks.

Clemson will play an elimination game on Saturday at 2 p.m. against the loser of the Vanderbilt-Xavier contest.
