Benton was all smiles after kicking an ACC record 61-yard field goal.

The Myrtle Beach High and WPDE All-Zone selection broke the old mark of 60 yards by Florida State's Gary Cismesia.

Andre Ellington got Clemson out to a 13-0 first quarter lead by scoring on TD runs of four and two yards. DeAndre Hopkins caught three TD passes for the Tigers on the way to a 45-10 halftime lead.

Clemson rolled up 526 yards of offense without suspended star receiver Sammy Watkins, who is set to return to the team after missing the Tigers first two games because of a drug arrest.

Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd completed 19 of 23 passes for 229 yards with three TD passes and no interceptions.

Clemson (2-0) will host the Furman Paladins on Saturday, September 15 with kickoff set for 3 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.
