Lake View's Christian looking to lead Clemson defense

Quandon Christian doesn't do a whole lot of talking, but his actions are heard loud and clear by his teammates and coaches at Clemson. The redshirt senior from Lake View is part of the starting unit for Brent Venables defensive unit at Clemson. He was recruited by Dabo Swinney, who saw a skinny running back who wore #4 during his high school days blossom into a 225 pound ACC linebacker. Christian was a 2008 WPDE Zoneman Finalist, part of a podium that included Notre Dame's Everett Golson and Atlanta Falcons defensive end and former Clemson teammate Malliciah Goodman.

Christian was involved in a car accident in 2006 that saw him lose his close friend Ronald Sampson. Lake View went on to win the 1A state championship later that year to honor Sampson and the Tigers linebacker says he plays in his honor every time he takes the field. He had 25 tackles, 2 sacks and an interception in his junior campaign and is looking for much bigger numbers in his senior season. His roomate is Tigers quarterback Tajh Boyd, who thinks that Christian is primed for a big season after a solid camp.

In addition to our profile of Quandon Christian, WPDE Sports has much more at 7:30 pm leading up to the big game including:

WPDE Sports Director Rich Chrampanis talks with both Tajh Boyd and Dabo Swinney about the Georgia game and the high expectations for the 2013 season

Scott Eisberg of WCIV in Charleston talks with former Georgia coach Vince Dooley who knows all about the Clemson/Georiga rivalry that's being renewed after a ten year hiatus.

Lee Corso and David Pollack of ESPN's College Gameday weigh in with their thoughts on the game

ESPN has a celebrity predictor every Saturday and WPDE's Allyson Floyd is working on a big name of her own to join us on the pregame show.

WPDE's Clemson/Georgia Pregame show airs at 7:30 pm, immediately followed by ABC Sports coverage of the Tigers and Bulldogs at 8:00 pm.
