Gamecocks suspend Williams, upset at the Citadel

For the first time since 1971, the Citadel has shut out South Carolina on the diamond. Freshman Logan Cribb pitched 8 shutout innings to give the Bulldogs an upset win in front of a sellout crowd at Riley Park in Charleston.
Prior to the game, Ray Tanner announced that outfielder Jake Williams has been suspended indefinitely for a violation of team rules. Williams started in 25 games hitting .286 with 2 HR and 18 RBI. Tanner offered no details for the suspension after the loss to the Citadel. The Gamecocks were also without Adrian Morales who was out with a sore wrist.

Clemson avenged an upset loss to Presbyterian with a 7-2 win at Doug Kingsmore on Tuesday night over the Blue Hose. PC beat the Tigers 4-3 on March 16th in Greenville. Justin Sarratt pitched 7 innings giving up just one earned run to get Clemson their 19th win of the season.
