Whip Up Your Weekend: No bake peanut butter cookies, (Sydney Glenn/WPDE)

Sunday marks National Peanut Butter Cookie Day, so Chef Geoff Blount whipped up a batch for Good Morning Carolinas Weekend.

Peanut Butter Sorghum Cookies:

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/4 cup sorghum syrup
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup fresh ground peanut butter
  • 1 1/2 cups oat based cereal mix
  • optional: pinch salt

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. In a small pot bring the sorghum, sugar and peanut butter to a boil.
  3. Remove from the heat and stir in the remaining ingredients.
  4. Scoop spoonful of the mixture onto the parchment lined pan.
  5. Refrigerate for 10 to 12 minutes or until firm. Then serve.
