Whip Up Your Weekend: Cranberry BBQ Sauce, (Sydney Glenn/WPDE){ }{ }

As we approach the holiday season, many grocery stores are stocking fresh cranberries. Chef Geoff shares a special cranberry BBQ sauce.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 (12 oz) bag of fresh cranberries
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup of roasted red pepper puree
  • ½ cup fresh orange juice
  • ¼ cup water
  • ¾ cup of ketchup
  • ½ cup of apple cider
  • 2 tsp mustard
  • 1 Tb Worcestershire sauce

DIRECTIONS:

  • Place all the ingredients in the pot on the stove.
  • Stir and let simmer on medium heat for 20 minutes. The cranberries should be split open and the mixture should start to thicken. You may choose to puree the sauce or leave chunky.
  • Transfer the mixture to a serving vessel.
  • Serve cold or hot….or even use the sauce to finish basting the wonderful turkey main dish.
