Two North Myrtle Beach police officers struck while working crash

Two North Myrtle Beach police officers working the scene of a car accident Saturday morning were hit by a vehicle, according to North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue.

The incident happened around 1:30am at the intersection of Highway 17 and Main Street.

Officers David Reist and Bobby Hall were working a minor wreck when a drunk female motorist crashed her car into one of the police units, causing the police unit to strike another car, and pushing that car into Officer Hall, according to Pat Dowling, North Myrtle Beach's Public Information Officer.

Officer Hall was taken to Grand Strand Medical Center and released.

We're told he has possible ligament damage to his knee.

More information is expected to be released Monday, once incident reports are processed.
