Three killed in Hartsville plane crash identified

We now have the names of the three men who died in a small plane crash on Fox Hollow Road near Hartsville Saturday night.

The men identified are George Thomas Rogers, 61, of Society Hill, Joseph Melton Loflin III, 29, of Pelzer, and Leslie R. Bradshaw, 75, of Hartsville, according to Darlington County Coroner Todd Hardee.

An autopsy has been scheduled for all three men for Monday, March 10 in Newberry, SC.

The pilot called air traffic controllers at 6:45 p.m. about landing gear problems. He tried to make to Hartsville airport when the plane crashed at 6:55 p.m according to Sheriff Wayne Byrd.

The plane was a Lancair IV-P aircraft with three persons on board, according to the FAA.

The wreckage will stay intact so that it can be reviewed by the The Federal Aviation Administration.

The FAA released a preliminary statement saying: "The FAA and the NTSB will investigate, and the NTSB will determine probable cause."

This incident remains under investigation by the Darlington County Coroner's Office, Darlington County Sheriff's Office and by the Federal Aviation Administration.
