Running as Reindeers to raise money for American Red Cross

The 6th annual Rivertown Reindeer Race kicked off at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Conway Marina.

Race organizer Susan Mungo says more than 200 people participated in the 5k run or walk.

In years past, the money raised through the race was around $15,000. This year they are beating their expectations, raising $20,000 which doesn't include those who registered last minute.

All the money raised will go toward the Red Cross Rescue Racer Organization. The money will be used by the Red Cross when they assist people in fires, or any kind of crisis.

We have a reporter live at the race for GMC Weekend from 9-10 a.m.
