Man charged in shooting death of South Carolina State student

One person has been charged in the shooting death of a South Carolina State student Friday.

SLED officials say they have charged Justin Bernard Singleton, 19, of Charleston with Murder. The charge is a felony with a penalty upon conviction of a minimum of 30 years to life in prison or death.

Singleton was taken into custody early Saturday morning in Orangeburg, according to a SLED arrest report. He is jailed at the Orangeburg-Calhoun Regional Detention Center.
