After mistaken release, SC inmate turns himself in

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - An inmate who was mistakenly released from the Charleston County jail has turned himself in.

Deputies say that 36-year-old George Henry Knight was back at the Al Cannon Detention Center on Friday night.

Authorities say Knight was arrested Wednesday on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, distribution of marijuana and unlawful carrying of a firearm.

Officials say he was issued a personal recognizance bond on Thursday. That bond was later changed to $30,000, but the updated paperwork didn't get to the right authorities before Knight was released.
