US, British evacuations in Yemen

WASHINGTON - The State Department is telling non-essential personnel at the U.S. Embassy in Yemen to leave the country.

The order follows a threat by al-Qaida that has triggered temporary shutdowns of 19 American diplomatic posts across the Middle East and Africa.

Britain is also temporarily pulling its embassy staff out of Yemen because of the terror threat.

Meanwhile, a suspected U.S. drone strike has killed four alleged al-Qaida members in the country.
