IRS could standardize questions for political groups

In the wake of accusations that the IRS unfairly targeted politically-related groups, the taxing agency may standardize the questions it asks those groups.

Some say the basics of the proposed questions are ones that were sent to Tea Party groups two years ago and are intrusive and oppressive.

But according to the IRS, the groups need to prove they are indeed social welfare before granting 501c4 status.
