Grand Jury indicts Tammy and Sidney Moorer in Heather Elvis' murder

An Horry County Grand Jury has formally indicted Tammy and Sidney Moorer in the murder of Heather Elvis, according to Evon Jordan with the Horry County Solicitor's Office.

The Grand Jury met Thursday and made the decision, according to Horry County Solicitor Jimmy Richardson.

The indictment claims Tammy and Sidney Moorer intentionally kidnapped and killed Heather Elvis on December 18, 2013.

On Monday, an Horry County judge denied bond for Sidney and Tammy Moorer who have been charged in the murder of Heather Elvis.

Judge Steven John says he denied bond because of the seriousness of charges, nature of case, potential penalty, and questions of whether defendants will reappear in court.

Horry County police filed murder charges Monday, February 24 against the Moorers.

Sidney Moorer, 38, and Tammy Moorer, 41, are also charged with Murder, Kidnapping, Obstruction of Justice and Indecent Exposure.

Judge John has issued a gag order in the case.
