Yarn Zoo vandalism case unravels

Earlier this week we told you about the vandalism of an art exhibit in downtown Conway, but it now appears the case has unraveled and the so-called crime was just a misunderstanding.

Saturday, artists with CREATE! Conway put handmade yarn animals throughout the downtown area as part of its Yarn Zoo exhibit.

Sunday, they discovered a crochet monkey had been removed from an awning at Rivertown Bistro and hung by its neck on the restaurant's door knob, and the organization filed a police report.

Turns out someone cleaning the outside of the restaurant removed the monkey so it wouldn't get damaged and hung it from the door of the restaurant for safekeeping.

Case closed.
