Wreck shuts down part of Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach

A single car wreck shut down both southbound lanes of Kings Highway at 27th Avenue South in Myrtle Beach around 10:45 Wednesday.

The lanes were reopened around Noon.

The car hit a power pole, caught fire, and knocked down power lines, according to Lt. David Knipes, with the Myrtle Beach Police Department.

The teenage driver was taken to hospital and will be charged with not having a drivers license, speeding and not wearing a seatbelt.
